Detailing Closing Steps
The first step in closing this above-ground pool was to plug the skimmer and return to prevent any water from entering the filtration system over the winter. Once these components were secured, the team disconnected the hoses, filter system, and all additional accessories attached to the pool. With everything safely disconnected, the filter system and accessories were carefully dried, cleaned, and stored in a location specified by the client, ensuring they will be in excellent condition when the pool reopens next season.
Installing the Air Pillows
To prevent damage from expanding ice, our team strategically placed air pillows across the pool's surface. These pillows act as a protective buffer, allowing any ice that forms to contract toward the center rather than putting pressure on the pool walls. For an oval-shaped pool of this size, proper pillow placement is key to ensuring the pool liner stays protected during the harsh winter months.
Securing the Winter Cover
When it came time to install the winter cover, our team faced a unique challenge: the cover was much larger than the pool itself. However, our experienced professionals quickly found a solution. They adjusted and tucked the excess material, using a secure cable and winch system to make sure the cover stayed snug and tight around the pool's perimeter. This extra attention to detail guarantees that the cover will remain in place throughout the winter, preventing debris from getting inside and ensuring the pool is fully protected.
